Mission
The Optical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of optical systems and components used in advanced technological applications. The role will contribute to product performance optimization, optical simulations, prototyping activities, and cross-functional engineering coordination to ensure robust and scalable solutions aligned with technical and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Optical Design and Development
Design and optimize optical systems, components, and assemblies for industrial applications.
Perform optical simulations, modeling, and tolerance analysis using specialized engineering tools.
Support prototype development, testing activities, and product validation processes.
Testing, Validation, and Performance Optimization
Define and execute optical characterization and validation procedures.
Analyze system performance, identify technical deviations, and implement corrective improvements.
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure product reliability and consistency.
Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
Coordinate with mechanical, electronic, and manufacturing engineering teams during development phases.
Participate in technical reviews, feasibility studies, and product improvement initiatives.
Support technical communication with suppliers and external engineering partners when required.
Documentation and Technical Reporting
Prepare structured technical documentation, specifications, and validation reports.
Ensure engineering activities comply with internal standards and project requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to optical technologies and engineering processes.
Required Qualifications
University degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in optical engineering or photonics-related industrial environments.
Experience with optical simulation and design tools such as Zemax, Code V, LightTools, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of optical systems, lenses, illumination, and photonic components.
Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
Preferred Experience
Experience in industrial, renewable energy, or advanced technology sectors.
Exposure to product industrialization and manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and optical measurement systems.
