Backend Engineer

Mission
The Backend Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend services within a modern microservices architecture. The role focuses on building robust services using C# and .NET, ensuring seamless integration with internal platforms and supporting cloud-native deployment environments.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the engineer will contribute to the development of reliable and secure backend systems, support automated delivery pipelines, and help maintain high standards of software quality, performance, and operational stability.
Responsibilities
Backend Service Development
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services using C# and .NET within a microservices architecture.
- Implement scalable and maintainable service components aligned with modern backend development standards.
- Ensure backend services integrate effectively with platform components and internal digital systems.
Cloud Infrastructure and Deployment
- Deploy and manage backend services across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Support containerized environments using Kubernetes to ensure scalable and resilient service deployment.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to maintain reliable and flexible runtime environments.
CI/CD and Development Automation
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Use tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to streamline development workflows.
- Support continuous integration practices that enable frequent and reliable software releases.
Quality Assurance and Observability
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure system reliability and software quality.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to track application performance.
- Identify and address performance, reliability, and stability issues in backend services.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, including at least 3 years focused on backend engineering.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering microservices-based applications using C# and .NET.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience working with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing distributed systems within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Python for backend services or data-oriented workloads.
- Exposure to software platforms integrating IT and operational technology environments.
- Experience contributing to platform engineering initiatives or internal developer platforms.
