Mission
The Digital Electronics Engineer will contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of FPGA-based digital systems supporting advanced telecommunications platforms.
This role is responsible for ensuring the robustness, performance, and reliability of high-speed digital architectures and communication interfaces. The position directly impacts system integrity from early prototyping through full validation and industrialization.
Responsibilities
Digital Architecture & FPGA Development
- Define and design digital electronics architectures for telecommunications systems.
- Develop, implement, and verify VHDL/Verilog code for FPGA-based functionalities.
- Perform synthesis, timing analysis, and design verification.
- Contribute to reliability-driven design methodologies and fault mitigation strategies.
Communication Interfaces & Embedded Systems
- Design and validate digital communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, RS422 UART, I2C, SPI, high-speed serial links).
- Provide technical input to PCB design teams regarding FPGA and microcontroller integration.
- Develop initial embedded software for hardware bring-up and interface validation.
Verification, Testing & Industrialization
- Lead hardware validation from prototype bring-up to pre-production stages.
- Support laboratory debugging and signal integrity verification.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts in Python.
- Contribute to compliance validation aligned with telecommunications industry standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Systems and Hardware Engineers to define digital requirements and system capabilities.
- Participate in technical reviews and ensure alignment between architecture, firmware, and hardware implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in FPGA or SoC design and verification.
- Strong proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with FPGA toolchains such as Microchip Libero or Xilinx Vivado.
- Practical experience in embedded software development (microcontrollers and/or soft-core processors).
- Hands-on laboratory experience in hardware debugging and prototype validation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with high-speed communication protocols and signal integrity considerations.
- Familiarity with verification frameworks such as VUnit or UVVM.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering and fault-tolerant digital system design.
- Experience working under telecommunications or industrial electronic standards.
