Mission
Lead the development, optimization, and sustainment of MOCVD epitaxy processes for III-V materials. Drive continuous improvement in production yield and process stability to enable scalable manufacturing of optoelectronic components. Act as a key interface between R&D and Operations to ensure seamless technology transfer and robust process readiness for high-volume production.
Responsibilities
MOCVD Process Ownership
- Develop, document, and maintain a robust MOCVD process library
- Define and monitor SPC parameters and implement daily process control routines
- Lead process optimization and troubleshoot deviations
Yield and Process Integration
- Analyze process yield trends and identify root causes of variability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve end-to-end process integration
- Implement best practices to stabilize and standardize critical steps
Technology Transfer and New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Transition new epitaxial structures from R&D to production with full qualification
- Support NPI ramp-up by defining process control plans and acceptance criteria
- Manage pilot lots and validate reproducibility
Equipment and Metrology Interface
- Own assigned MOCVD tools, ensuring uptime and performance KPIs
- Interface with metrology and characterization systems for layer quality validation
- Participate in tool upgrades, retrofits, and capability expansion
Documentation and Quality Systems
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific documentation requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering protocols and quality controls
- Publish technical reports on process performance and innovation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in compound semiconductor manufacturing
- Proven expertise in MOCVD epitaxial growth of III-V materials (InP, GaAs, or related)
- Experience with Aixtron MOCVD systems
- Solid understanding of epitaxial metrology and process control methodologies
- Degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field
Preferred Experience
- Experience in scaling epitaxial processes to high-volume production
- Background in optoelectronic device fabrication or photonic integrated circuits
- Familiarity with ISO-certified environments and technical documentation standards
- Track record of publishing technical findings or participating in collaborative R&D
