Mission
As a laser-technology expert within the R&D team, you will contribute to the development of complex optoelectronic systems with applications in quantum and laser-based technologies. From concept definition to final performance validation, you will lead the design and optimization of electro-optic products, engaging in multi-physics simulation, prototyping, and optical experimentation. Your work will be instrumental in bringing cutting-edge quantum innovations to real-world implementations.
Responsibilities
Product Development and Optical Design
Develop novel electro-optic and acousto-optic devices for scientific and industrial use.
Design and build experimental optical setups for component characterization and system testing.
Participate in the full development cycle: concept, simulation, prototyping, validation.
Simulation and Modeling
Conduct advanced multi-domain simulations (optical, thermal, acoustic, mechanical, crystal physics).
Evaluate and optimize performance using tools such as COMSOL, CST, OSLO, or Zemax.
System Integration and Prototyping
Collaborate on CAD mechanical designs for integration of optical assemblies.
Support PCB prototyping, optical alignment, and micro-positioning activities.
Analyze experimental data and contribute to continuous improvement of product performance.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher (Ph.D. or PostDoc preferred) in Applied Physics, AMOP, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with complex optical and laser-based systems (e.g., cold atoms, quantum simulation, metrology).
Proficiency in one or more simulation tools (e.g., Matlab, COMSOL, CST, OSLO, Zemax).
Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
Demonstrated self-reliance, hands-on attitude, and capacity to work in interdisciplinary lab environments.
Preferred Experience
Experience in miniaturization of optical assemblies and high-precision optical alignment.
Simulation and analysis of complex physical or optical systems, including fiber optics.
Familiarity with design and testing of analog/digital circuits for RF or high-voltage applications.
Exposure to cleanroom, mechanical workshop, or chemical laboratory environments.
