Mission
As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the adoption of cutting-edge laser and photonic instrumentation across global markets. By combining deep technical understanding with commercial acumen, you will support customers in high-precision sectors and drive the successful integration of advanced technologies into demanding research and industrial applications. Your work will directly influence customer success and strengthen the company’s position as a technological leader.


Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Business Development

  • Manage the full sales cycle for high-performance laser systems and precision instruments, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closure.

  • Serve as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for clients in both academia and industry.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and build long-term relationships with key accounts.

  • Lead the preparation and submission of national and international tenders and technical proposals.

Technical Consulting & Market Collaboration

  • Provide in-depth technical consultation to support customers in application-driven environments, including spectroscopy, metrology, and quantum systems.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Product Management, Marketing) to develop market strategies and tailored solutions.

  • Represent the company at international trade shows, scientific conferences, and industry seminars.

Client Relationship Management

  • Actively maintain and expand the customer network through regular visits, on-site presentations, and strategic follow-ups.

  • Promote customer retention by ensuring high levels of satisfaction and solution alignment.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Optical Technologies, Physics, or Engineering; a PhD is considered a strong asset.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical sales or application engineering role, ideally within laser or photonics markets.

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales processes in a high-tech environment.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a clear customer focus.

  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to travel frequently (nationally and internationally).


Preferred Experience

  • Previous exposure to scientific instrumentation or advanced photonic systems.

  • Familiarity with customers and ecosystems in metrology, quantum technologies, or research-driven industries.

  • Experience participating in public procurement or tender-based sales processes.

  • Technical knowledge of femtosecond lasers, optical frequency combs, or related technologies.
